Radio Frequency Network Engineer (Chantilly, VA)

Assist in providing Radio Frequency (RF) coverage surveys in cellular and public bands using RF propagation test equipment. Participate in Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) design, documentation, and installation, and commission cellular and public safety DAS.  

Bachelor’s in electrical and electronic engineering or telecommunication engineering degree and 1 year experience in job or 1 year as RF Engineer with knowledge of RF protocols and measurements for power and spectrum quality using network testing solutions (TEMS). 

All candidates must have experience in performing, monitoring, measuring, and optimizing RF networks.

Wireless Deployment Manager

We are seeking a qualified individual to manage wireless infrastructure projects Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and other wireless technologies. Responsible for managing our installation team, establish project timelines, goals, budgets, and manage resources in accordance with existing contract terms and conditions. Accountable for achieving project milestones and revenue for assigned projects. Manager will manage cross-functional teams of professional, technical, and construction employees/subcontractors through project milestones to project completion and in compliance with established processes and policies established by the company, the client, and regulatory agencies. The position reports to the company’s CEO.

Essential Job Functions:
  • This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and project requirements.
  • Manages team of 6-8 subordinates (technicians and cable installers). Person is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this team.
  • Supervise crews to ensure top quality workmanship
  • Interviewing, selecting, and training of employees. Reporting their hours of work per week
  • Maintaining job records for use in supervision or control
  • Participates in project installation and commissioning. 
  • Familiar and capable of creating system link budgets. 
  • Maintains the record of the Under-warranty projects visits and Maintenance services, updating status on a monthly basis.
  • Able to perform RF coverage surveys in cellular and public safety bands.
  • Provides reports for every RF site survey and walkthrough performed.
  • Commissioning different Active systems and BDAs for Cellular and Public Safety systems.
  • Capable of performing RF Propagation Final Testing
  • Familiar with wireless system designs using iBwave software.
Skills
  • Good knowledge of Signal Boosters and Fiber DAS Systems a must.
  • Experience Commissioning different Active systems (Corning, ADRF, JMA) and BDAs (Comba, ADRF, Fiplex, Commscope). Certifications preferred. 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with iBwave design software. iBwave certification preferred.
  • Experience with RF test equipment: Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Cable and Antenna Analyzer, VSWR meter, OTDR
  • Experience performing RF site surveys with the PCTEL scanner. 
  • Knowledge of passive devices (directional couplers, splitters, etc.)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of the wireless tower industry including environmental/FAA/FCC compliance, leasing, planning, and construction management
  • Be always fully knowledgeable on project status
  • Ability to interact, in a respectful manner with clients, subcontractors and staff
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and technical drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Requirements
  • Experience: 3 years of industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with wireless, DAS, LTE, UMTS, CBRS, MW backhaul
  • Location: DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV Area)
  • Education: Technical degree (engineering) preferred but may be substituted by equivalent experience.

Technical Sales

This position is for an energetic results driven individual. The successful candidate will be performing inside sales, some customer visits, seeking to increase the company's market share, preparing quotations and proposals. Previous sales experience is preferable. Individual should have as a minimum the following skills and qualifications:

  • Feel comfortable explaining technical functionalities of products to customers
  • Be a quick learner in order to successfully become familiar with wireless products Morcom sells
  • Have a working knowledge of the 2-way radio industry
  • Proficient in the use of the Windows MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Have good organizational skills
  • Be a good communicator
  • Previous experience selling to government agencies a plus
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident

The candidate chosen for this position will be eligible and encouraged to receive training on the products sold by Morcom.

Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Engineer

To design in-building wireless systems capable of extending public safety and cell phone communications to buildings and other structures. The successful candidate will be tasked with designing state-of-the-art in-building wireless systems that will extend wireless services to buildings, tunnels, and other structures for law enforcement and security applications. Successful candidates shall demonstrate participation on similar projects, and have as a minimum the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience in the design and implementation of wireless communications systems
  • In-building DAS design for neutral host wireless cellular system and public safety system
  • DAS provisioning, commissioning, integration and troubleshooting
  • Experience in the installation of fiber optic and coaxial cable
  • Must be up to date on newer technologies and equipment
  • Experience working in systems operating in the 800MHz, 400Mhz, and cell phone bands
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • U.S. citizenship is required
